Blaine A. Cordery, Jr. 60 of Powhatan Point, Ohio died Monday, September 4, 2017 at the Acuity Specialty Hospital of Ohio Valley in Wheeling, West Virginia.

He was born August 2, 1957 in Bellaire, Ohio a son Blaine A. Cordery, Sr. and Mary Gerdau Cordery.

He was a Nazarene by faith and a US Army veteran.

Blaine was a former Powhatan Point police officer and a volunteer fireman. He enjoyed watching Andy Griffith, he loved fishing and was an avid hunter when he was younger.

Surviving are his wife, Julie Edgar Cordery, whom he married on December 31, 1975, his parents, Blaine A, Sr. and Mary Cordery of Powhatan Point, Ohio, his children, Lori (Kevin) Pugh and Blaine Warren (Heather Graham) Cordery all of Columbus, Ohio and Kristina (Shaun Brockman) Cordery of Powhatan Point, Ohio, two brothers, Gary (Tina) Cordery of Bellaire, Ohio, Mick (Kim) Cordery of Delaware, Ohio and Rhonda (Jamie) Dailey of West Union, West Virginia. Also three grandchildren, Dylan, Austin and Wyatt Cordery.

There will be no visitation. A memorial celebration of Blaine’s life will be held today at 1 pm at the United Wesleyan Church in Bellaire, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blaine A. Cordery Memorial Fund to assist the family by going to “TMCFunding.com.”

I’m so sorry for your loss, Lori. You and your family are in my prayers. Blaine was a hoot to work with at OSU, and
his hard work and dedication to his patients was next to none. I’ve missed
his ornery sense of humor since I left. Love to you and your family, Lori.
