Christine Ann Canter, 68, of Bellaire, Ohio died Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV.

She was born July 31, 1949 in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of the late Richard and Ellen Hemsley Smith.

She was a former LPN at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV, a 1967 graduate of Bellaire High School, a 1969 graduate of the Bellaire School of Practical Nursing and was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Bellaire, Ohio.

Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Chuck Canter, a daughter, Stacy (Eric King) Ryan of Hellertown, PA, her siblings, Richard (Jan) Smith, Robert (Lynn) Smith and Mary Ellen Smith all of Bellaire, OH., two grandsons Charles Ryan and Matthew Ryan and her Beloved pet miniature Schnauzer “Izzy”.

Family and Friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio, Thursday from 5pm-8pm and on Friday from 9am until time for the 10am Funeral Liturgy with Mass at St John Catholic Church Bellaire, OH with Fr. Daniel Heusel officiating.

Interment follows in Holly Memorial Gardens.

Vigil service at 7:45pm Thursday.
