Christine “Chris” Covington, 69, of Martins Ferry, Ohio died July 15, 2018, at Wheeling Hospital.

Chris was born December 12, 1948, in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of Phyllis Williams Dodds and the late Gerald Dodds.

Chris was employed as cafeteria cook at the Martins Ferry City School’s. She was a 1967 graduate of Bellaire High School and a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church Bellaire, OH.

Preceding her in death, was her father, Gerald “Pap” Dodds, two brothers, Gerald “Dube” Dodds and Harold “Fuzz” Dodds.

Surviving is her mother, Phyllis Williams Dodds a resident of Bellaire, OH, a son, Daniel (Heather) Covington of Dublin, OH and a daughter, Jennifer (David) Shunk of St. Clairsville, OH, 6 grandchildren, Derek (Louisa), Jolyn, Taylor, Cole, Hunter and Chase, a niece, Krystal and nephew, Ryan, one great nephew and three great nieces.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
