Clyde W. McLeod, 86, of Shadyside, Ohio, died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Liza’s Place of Valley Hospice, Wheeling. He was born March 28, 1931 in Shadyside, a son of the late David Fred and Lyda Helen Bonar McLeod.

Clyde was employee of the former Rodefer Glass, Shadyside Stamping, AARP, a Presbyterian by faith and served in the U.S. Army. He was most proud of his volunteer work in the Physical Therapy Department at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Bell McLeod in 1992; brothers, Dale and Gordon McLeod; a sister, Adelyn McFarland.

Surviving are a son, David (Becky) McLeod of Belmont, Ohio; grandchildren, Craig (Ashley) McLeod and Alicia McLeod; best friends and neighbors, Bob “Bushwacker” and Mary Gorrell.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday at 2 pm at Powhatan Cemetery with Pastor Dave Ratliff officiating.

Dave and Family:
We are sorry for your loss and pray God gives you peace and comfort. Clyde gave so much to his community and to our family. I’ll always remember his enthusiasm. I will always rejoice over his ability to overcome challenges and return back to doing the things he enjoyed! He was proud of his family and he loved God.
