Hilda S. Kangas

August 30, 1944 - August 22, 2015

Hilda S. Kangas died Saturday, August 22, 2015 and would have celebrated her 71st birthday this Sunday, August 30th.

She was the only daughter and youngest of three children born to Joseph and Annie Irene Hillman of Beaumont, Texas.

A career homemaker, Hilda was a devoted wife and loving mother.

Those she met were attracted by her warmth and loving kindness. Those having the opportunity to know Hilda better, found her true and sincere and became life-long friends.

When told she had cancer, Hilda made a vow to not cry or feel sorry-a promise she never broke.

Hilda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Cliff Kangas; two sons, Cliff Kangas, III (Maryland) and Matt Kangas (Minnesota); one grandson, Jack Kangas (Minnesota) ; two brothers, retired psychiatrists, Farrell A. Hillman, MD (Austin, Texas) and Jack B. Hillman, MD (San Antonio, Texas).

Hilda will be truly missed by both friends and family.

Visitation will be 3-6 PM, Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, OH. 43950. Hilda’s Memorial Service follows visitation with Kent Millard officiating.
