Jan was a very dear friend. We recall one time in a store we were trying to find a Halloween costume for our first son. He was only about a year and a half. We were so engrossed in looking at costumes that we didn’t notice Jan walking away with our shopping cart with our son in it. He was hiding around a corner having a good laugh at our expense. Jan went to school and was best friends with Vernon long after school. God bless his soul. May he rest in peace. Our condolences to his family and especially J>D.

JD football practices and games will never be the same with out him. I will miss when after we get done doing pregame warmups he comes around and says I’m going to hit you and squirts water in my face and then gives me encouragement. If you need anything tell me my Dad or Mom.

JD, I’m so sorry for the loss of your dad. I know you guys weren’t just father and son but also best friends. When your dad and I worked at IH-Shadyside, he brought you in to meet everyone when you were just a little guy. He was always talking about JD. I’m sure the memories he left with you will warm your heart in the years ahead. I know for sure that Shadyside sports will remember Jan and his loyalty to all the programs. Sue Junkins
