Joann Nemec, 85 of Shadyside, Ohio died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Cumberland Pointe Nursing Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

She was born October 27, 1930 in Shadyside, Ohio a daughter of the late Joseph and Gabriella “Ella” Raska Nemec.

Joann was a retired communications supervisor for the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. She was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio, Wheeling Women’s Club and the National Management Association’s Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation Chapter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sisters, Rosemary Nemec, Mildred Kuncio and Ann Blessing and brothers, Rudolph and Ludwig Nemec. Also several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Friday from 10 am until 10:45 am. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 am at the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio with Fr. Daniel Heusel, as Celebrant. Interment in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.
