John D. Hotlosz (Angels Johns), 62 of Bellaire, Ohio died Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.
He was born on May 21, 1953 in Bellaire, Ohio a son of the late Mildred and Thomas Peter Hotlosz.
Angels Johns went on to graduate from St. John’s Central High school in 1971, where he was a significant member on a OVAC champion wrestling team. He was then employed by the Picoma Industries and Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio.
A colorful character, who preferred the name Angels, John was well know in the city of Bellaire. No one ever had a bad word to say about John, and he was never one to judge. He lived his life helping those in need. If you spent any time with him, you would have learned much about what is important in life. If you were down, he could bring a smile to your face. He was funny and truly wise – simple, not complicated.
He had a love for reading. A past librarian at the Bellaire Public Library said that she thought he had read every book in the library. He would surprise you with information just at the time you needed it. He taught his family tolerance for those who were challenged in life. He was a gentleman and a gentle man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Hotlosz Krickenbarger and Mary Kay Hotlosz.
John is survived by his daughter, Heather Hotlosz, her husband, Chris Pieratt and grandson, Trent Langland; his brothers and their wives, Thomas and Sally of Powhatan Point, Ohio; Frank and Cindy of Wheeling, West Virginia; Peter and Laurie of San Jose, California; David and Veretta of Santa Clara, California; Bruce and Teresa of Bridgeport, ohio; Paul of Columbus, Ohio; Walter of Bellaire, Ohio his sister, Barbara and Tom Vais of Los Gatos, California; his niece Laurie and Michael Day of Bridgeport, ohio; his aunts, Donna, Kay, and Luella Ticarich and 22 nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Lacey and Jake Hotlosz for the kindness, compassion and companionship they showed to Angels with the same loving spirit as our much loved Grandma Mildred.
Goodbye father, grandfather, brother, uncle. Life will never be the same with you gone. Your passing did not take a piece of our world, because that piece will live forever as a part of us. John’s last words to each and every one of us were always a simple and sweet “Love you, bye”.
