John E. Vostatek, Jr. 88, of Dublin, OH formerly of St. Clairsville, OH died Monday, July 2, 2018 at Dublin Assisted Living and Memory Support Center. He was born June 29, 1930 in Tiltonsville, OH a son of the late John E. and Louise E. Bello Vostatek, Sr.

John was retired from Picoma Industries, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clairsville, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Martins Ferry VFW Post 3613 and Martins Ferry American Legion Post 38.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bernard “Joe” Dolan, Leroy and Charles Vostatek; a sister, Barbara Ann Gavarkavich; a grandson, Nicholas Andres Fagundo.

Surviving are his loving wife, Joyce L. Helmbright Vostatek of Dublin; daughters, Louann Fagundo of Hudson, FL, Linda (James) Wojcik and Lisa (William) Miller both of Dublin and Laura (Thomas) Roberts of Hilliard, OH; brothers, Louis (Jan) Vostatek of Kokomo, IN, Cecil (Joy) Vostatek of Colorado Springs, CO and Frank Vostatek of Steubenville, OH; grandchildren, Ramon and Natalie Fagundo, Raquel (Justin) Fischer, Adrienne (Brennan) Moroni, Dillon and Dalton Miller, Vanessa and Zachary Roberts; great-grandchildren, Veronica Fischer, Gia Moroni and Apollo Fagundo.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-5 pm at Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville, OH with a Vigil Service at 1 pm.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clairsville with Fr. Ed Maxfield as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Martins Ferry, with full military honors conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.

what a shock to read of John’s passing.Found myself thinking about when we worked at Sledd’s in Wheeling. May you and your family find peace in knowing John is at peace.
