I do not know any of your family but I truly can relate. Prayers for your family. Thank you for bringing awareness to a sad, painful struggle many family members face with their struggling loved ones, especially during your time of loss. May you find peace and comfort.

To the parents of Kimberly Anne…I never had the pleasure of meeting your lovely daughter. I am so sorry for your family’s untimely loss. So tragic & that it could have been prevented is what makes it even sadder. You both, as parents, have a lot of courage to stand up to this battle & bring it out into the open. More people should join in this stand & stop sweeping it under the rug. Lives can be saved. I pray that your courage to share saves at least one person. May God Bless & protect you all, especially Kimberly’s children.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Kim’s passing and my heart goes out to and breaks for the friends, family and more so, children of hers! I hope and pray that god be with you all in this difficult time! May you all be able to find some kind of peace in the memories, stories, good times and laughs you all have shared with her. I have read from many of people that she was always smiling and I hope that in this time of mourning you remember all of those things and instead are able to celebrate the life she had and shared with each of you! It deeply upsets me when the circumstances of someone’s death of such means defines that person or their life as many don’t understand the disease and wish more than anything those that dont, did and could, as they are more than just that (an addict)….they are someone’s mother, father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew and are loved and cared about. As human beings we all make mistakes and bad choices from time to time and despite that those closest to us love us when we do so and we aren’t defined by those things, rather the good things one has done, their accomplishments, their helpful ways, their morals, the impact they had on someones life and their good heart and soul. Its so sad when people are quick to bash someone for their faults or weaknesses without thinking of their hurtful words and how it will affect those left behind. I am moved by the way her mother and father chose to word her obituary and hope that it helps those who are still sick and suffering from this horrid disease. Its claimed so many and so much from those it has taken already and if it can help even just one person change their life around, it will have made a difference and I’m sure help her family know she is still helping to make lives happier even after she has passed.
