Lena Pellegrino Derosa passed away at home with the help of family, close friends and Valley Hospice.

Lena was born in Rosemont, W.Va. to Eufemia Deluca Pellegrino and Carmine Pellegrino, the fifth of 6 children.

Lena always said that she never felt poor even though those early years were lean and difficult. Lena greatly loved and was fiercely proud of her family. She had a sharp eye for style and beauty, and was a much admired figure with Frank on the dance floor.

Lena was the family historian, bringing to life her parents journey from Italy to W.Va., and publishing a memoir of her childhood growing up in Rosemont.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Sylvio Pellegrino, her sisters, Yolanda Lechiara and Mafalda Fragale.

Lena is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank Derosa, her four children, Angela, Tina, Michael, & Mark and their families, especially the grandchildren, Holly Marquardt, Amber Reed, John Barker, Denise Barker, Erin Derosa, Lucy Cayard, Allen Derosa, Jessica Derosa, Amanda Derosa, and Jared Derosa, and two great grandchildren, Mason Marquardt and Brynn Barker, little BB.

Also, surviving Lena are her two sisters, Gina Light and Mary Wentz, along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers a donation could be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children at “TMCFunding.com”.

There will be a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s, St. Clairsville, Ohio on Tuesday, December 12th at 11:00.

The family will be there at 10:00 to receive friends and family.

A luncheon will follow the service at Undo’s, St. Clairsville.

Arrangements by the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 204 W. Main St St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950.

Mr. Frank, I am so, so sorry… I know you will miss your “Lady Bird.” She always greeted me with a smile, welcomed me into your home, and treated me like Family. Mike, Mark, Angela and Tina, I’m so sorry for your loss. I wish I could somehow help you to feel better. As you know, your Mom is a wonderful Lady, and she will always be missed.
