Magdaline K. Calovini, 92, of St. Clairsville, OH formerly of Lafferty, OH died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at her home. She was born February 13, 1925 in Clairton, PA a daughter of the late Peter Bizanovich and Anna Kolakovic Bizanovich-Raicevich.
Magdaline was a retired Registered Nurse at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, OH where she attended the Ruth Brant School of Nursing. She and her husband Albert also owned and operated the former Star Nursing Home in Morristown, OH. She was a Nursing Instructor at Belmont Technical College for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, line dancing, oil painting, playing the organ, ceramics, sewing cooking and baking her famous homemade bread and nut bread.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Pete Bizanovich, Joseph Bizanovich and Michael Raicevich; her step-father, Gorcin Raicevich.
Surviving are her loving husband of 69 years, Albert Calovini of St. Clairsville; a daughter, Kathryn “Kathy” Berus of Pickerington, OH; a son, Paul (Brenda) Calovini of North Royalton, OH; a sister, Mildred Gladden of Port St. Lucie, FL; two grandsons, Brandon and Darren Calovini; many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2 pm at the Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lafferty with Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating.
