Ollie E. Campbell, 84 of Shadyside died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the Wheeling Hospital.

He was born July 8, 1932 in Bellaire a son of the late Earl and Iva Davis Campbell.

Ollie was a retired employee of the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation’s Martins Ferry Mill, a life member of the VFW Post 626 and American Legion Post 52 both of Bellaire, the NRA and the North American Fishing Club. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one sister, Beverly Palmer and six brothers, Earl, Thomas, Walter, Bobby, Donald and an infant brother, Cecil and a son-in-law, Robert Briggs.

Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Edler Campbell, whom he married on October 16, 1955, four children, Edward Ollie (Diana) Campbell of Corona, CA, Jody Taylor of Martins Ferry, Catherine (John) McGarry and Terry Briggs both of Bellaire, one sister, Shirley Scott of Bellaire and Brother-In-Law, James Palmer of Shadyside.  Also seven grandchildren, Barb )Donnie), Jenny (Jessie), Andy (Stephanie), Robert (Marissa), Kyle, Kayla and Troy, eight great grandchildren, Lea, Harlee, Brianna, Chloe, Kendalynn, Jordan, Kingston and Kruzden and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm where services will be held on Friday at 11 am with Life Celebrant, Sarah Barickman officiating. Interment in the Holly Memorial Gardens at Pleasant Grove, Ohio with Full Military Honors conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.

Bea, Jody, Cathy, Terrie and Edward( always little Ollie to me), I am so sorry to hear Ollie died. I have great memories of that summer I spent with you guys and visit that place in my head often. I love you guys and will keep you in my prayers.
