William R. Sutton 86 of Bellaire, Ohio passed away, Thursday August 4, 2016 at the East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio.

He was born August 9, 1930 in Bellaire, Ohio the son of  the late William E. and Virginia Plunkett Sutton.

Bill was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation’s Yorkville Plant. He was a fifty year member of Ionic Lodge 438 F & AM and the American Legion Post 52 both of Bellaire, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Steadman, Martha Wiley and Dorothy Liberati.

Bill is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Phyllis J. Kahl Sutton, his son, William J. (Michele) Sutton of Martins Ferry, Ohio and his daughter, Beth (Steve) Prati of Zanesville, Ohio. Also his five grandchildren, Joe and Lauren Prati, Marcus, Chloe and Haley Sutton and his great grandson, Quentin Prati.

The family would like to thank the Wonderful Staff at Valley Hospice for providing such great care and support during these past years and the nurses at the East Ohio Regional Hospital.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Sunday from 4 to 8 pm where services will be held on Monday at 11 am with Rev. James Hoff officiating. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.

 Masonic services will be held on Sunday at 7 pm in the funeral home.
