Charles Edward Forni, age 83, of New Martinsville, West Virginia passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, May 10, 2020.

Charles was born on July 9, 1936 to Carl and Elizabeth Forni and raised by Oliver and Alice Wolfe of Powhatan Point, Ohio. A graduate of Powhatan High School, he received his Chemical Engineering degree from Ohio University in 1959. After graduation, Charles began his career with PPG Industries in Natrium, WV and later in life worked for Mobay/Bayer also in Natrium.

Charles and Janet loved traveling the world, especially Europe, but visiting every continent, usually many times. Charles also enjoyed gardening, golfing, bowling and taking care of his many fruit trees. They were active members of the First Presbyterian Church in New Martinsville, WV.

Charles is survived by his wife, Janet, children, Charles Douglas (Anne) Forni of Lakeland, Fl, Christopher (Sue) Forni of Atenas, Costa Rica, and Brian (Theresa) Forni of Cleveland, OH, and two grandchildren, Charlotte and Tabitha, both of Cleveland. He is also survived by his sisters, Sue (Vernon) Ebert (Beallsville, OH), Dot (Jim) Frank (Woodsfield, OH), and a brother Dale (Stella) Forni (Dundee,OH).

He is preceded in death by brothers Floyd Forni and Paul (Carol) Forni, and sisters Helen (Charles) Sommers, Jessie (Vaughn) Spaulding, and Marie (Bud) Clark.

A private service for immediate family will be held this Friday, May 15, 2020, at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home in Powhatan Point, OH.

Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery.

Janet and family….I am so sorry to see this. It’s been a lifetime since I’ve seen you all at Aunt Alice’s but I always remembered Charles as a very kind man. God bless you all.

I will remember the wit and humor of Chuck. I started going to breakfast with my dad and met the Forni’s and such lovely people. We will all miss you Chuck..
