Clarence C. “Jake” Phillips, 73, of Shadyside, Ohio died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the Shadyside Care Center. He was born November 18, 1942 in Powhatan Point, Ohio a son of the late Orville and Dorothy Vanness Phillips.
Jake was a retired employee of Ohio Ferro Alloys, and Apostolic by faith, a member of the Moose Lodge of Moundsville and proudly served in the US Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roger, Larry and Carl Phillips; a special friend, Patricia Phillips.
Surviving are three children, Sam (Amy) Phillips of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Laura Phillips (Brad Heiser) and Penny (Dale) Byrd both of Shadyside; siblings, Kenneth (Marjorie) Phillips, Raymond (Marjorie) Phillips, Catherine (Larry) Glotfelty, Gary Phillips, Wilma Jean Greer and six grandchildren.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service Saturday 2 pm at Powhatan Cemetery with Rev. James Hoff officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Powhatan Honor Guard.
