Delbert McNear, 71 of Powhatan Point, Ohio died Wednesday March 29, 2017 at Carriage Inn of Cadiz.
He was born October 7, 1945 a son of the late Harry and Hazel (Baker) McNear in Terra Alta, WV.
Delbert was Belt Operator for North American Coal #1 for 15 years.
He graduated from Powhatan Point High School and was a Presbyterian by Faith.
He loved word search books and was an Elder Deacon in the Powhatan First Presbyterian Church.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia “Patty” (Kocher) McNear and his daughters, Lissa (Thomas) Savage of Westerville, OH and Kathy (David) Frazier of Dardenne Prairie, MO.
In addition he is survived by a brother, Larry (Joyce) McNear of Powhatan Point, OH and a sister, Roseann (Carl) Burnette of Marengo, OH along with four grandchildren, T.J. Savage, Elizabeth Savage, Austin Frazier and Emily Frazier and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory 186 Main St, Powhatan Point, Ohio on Friday March 31, 2017 from 4 until 8 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 1, 2017 at 11 am with Reverend Tim Wilt Officiating.
Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
