Douglas Yates Zonker, 78, of Bellaire, OH died Friday January 28, 2022 at his home.

He was born March 18, 1943 in Bellaire, OH, a son of the late Chester and Betty (Helms) Zonker.

Doug was a US Navy Veteran and a Christian by faith. He retired as a General Contractor for Colgate. He loved to be outside, mother nature was his best friend. He enjoyed grilling chicken on his outdoor BBQ. The greatest years of his life were spent on the USS William D. Law for four years. Doug was an avid animal lover, and will be happy to be reunited with his dog, Jamal

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his lifetime companion of forty years, Cheryl Columbo in 2015, a brother, Terry Zonker, nephew Mark Zonker and beloved dog, Jamal.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Kathy Zonker Wright, Cheryl’s children that he was like a father to; Dana Columbo of Nashville, TN, Dan Columbo of Bellaire, OH, and Kelly (Kevin)Columbo Johnson of St. Clairsville, two step grandchildren; Gilly Johnson of St. Clairsville and “Little” Kevin Johnson also of St. Clairsville., as well as three nephews; Terry Zonker, Ricky Zonker, and Gregory Wright II, three nieces; Heather Wright Murphy and Alexandra Wright, as well as a great-niece, Cleo and great-nephew Lincoln

Per Douglas’ wishes, there will be no services. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
