Elizabeth Ellen "Betty" Norden

November 12, 1929 - January 17, 2022

Betty Ellen Norden, 92, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022; beloved wife of Joseph Norden, Sr. and Don Freeman;
mother of Joe Norden, Jr., Jeff (Kristin) Norden, and Jim Norden; grandmother of Justin
(Angie) Norden; great-grandmother of seven beautiful great-grandchildren; sister of the
late Robert (Jan) Campbell and the late Joseph (Celia) Campbell; daughter of the late
Dora Campbell and the late Joseph Francis Campbell.

Betty graduated Bellaire High School in 1947 and took a job at the Bellaire Enamel
Works. After marrying Joseph Norden, Sr. and raising their three sons, she went back to
work as a pharmacy tech at the Bellaire Clinic until her retirement.

No one was ever unimportant to Betty. She treated everyone with love and respect. Her
eternal walk with Christ was evident in everything she did, from the humble way she
carried herself to her kind and generous nature. A lifelong member of South Bellaire
United Methodist Church, she sang in a small, but mighty choir that tackled big musical
projects and made them sound beautiful. One of her favorite memories was a church
trip to explore the Holy Land in the 1980s.

Friends received for visitation Saturday, February 12th, from 10am-12pm at Bauknecht-
Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441 37th Street, Bellaire. Funeral service of Christian burial at
South Bellaire United Methodist Church at 1pm with Pastor James Lish officiating.
Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery to follow directly after
ceremony.

Per Betty’s wishes, memorial contributions can be made to the South Bellaire United Methodist Church by going to TMCFunding.com.
Family requests visitors wear face masks.
