George F. Brannen, Jr., 85. of Shadyside, OH died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Shadyside Care Center. He was born February 7, 1932 in Bellaire, OH a son of George F. And Hazel Nichol Brannen, Sr.
George was a retired Health Care Administrator of Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV, a member of First Presbyterian Church and a U.S. Navy Reserves Veteran. George was a graduate of Capitol University in Columbus, OH, a member of American Hospital Association, American Society for Hospital Engineers, Michigan Hospital Association, Oakwood Health Services Presidents Society, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club and the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George F. Brannen III.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Krock Brannen of Shadyside; his children, James (Darlene) Brannen of Markham, VA, Margaret (Bob) Robinson of Pickerington, OH and John (Natalia) Brannen of Richmond, TX; one grandson, Matthew Robinson of West Chester, PA.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, OH 43947 with Funeral Services being held on Monday at 11 am with Rev. David Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, OH.
