John W. Watson, 72, of St. Clairsville, OH died Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Veteran Administration Hospital-Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born June 3, 1944 in Bellaire, OH a son of the late W. Hayes and Margaret McConnell Watson.
John was a former foreman for Consolidated Coal Company, a retired employee of VOTO Manufactures Sales Co., a Presbyterian by faith and proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he attended The Ohio State University. He was a graduate of the St. Clairsville High School.
Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years Michele A. Boiarski Watson of St. Clairsville; a daughter, Dawn Watson-Boothe and her husband Terry of Florence, KY; a son, John W. Watson, II of St. Clairsville; a sister, Nancy (Mitch) Toto of Morristown, OH; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Tea’ Boothe.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm at Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville with Fr. Thomas Chillog officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville with full Military Honors conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.

I remember 'little John' with his legs dangling down from the United Presbyterian church pew. His parents, Margaret and Hayes loved him dearly and were so proud of their young man. Now they are united. May all who knew and loved him be grateful for the priceless gift of friendship here and above.
