Jonathan L. Kenney, 65, of Moundsville, WV, formerly of Neffs, OH, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. He was born November 6, 1949 in Los Angeles, CA, a son of the late Robert and Gladys White Kenney.
Jonathan was a retired mechanic for NACCO Quarto # 4 mine at Clarington, OH, a Protestant by faith, a US Army Veteran, member of VFW Post 5565, American Legion Post 228 both of Powhatan Point, OH, UMWA and former member of the Neffs Vol. Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Bell Kenney; brothers, Jeffrey D. Kenney, Russell W. Kenney and Forrest “Frosty” Kenney.
Surviving are his wife, Lenora White Kenney of Moundsville; a son, Richard Thomas Kenney of Neffs; two step-children; brothers, James R. (Lorraine) Kenney of Marietta, OH, Jerrold A. (Janet) Kenney of Powhatan Point; sisters, Margaret L. (Ken) Harbison of Phoenix, AZ, and Rhoda (Bruce) Eberle of Shadyside, OH; a grandson, Richard Thomas Kenney, Jr.; three step- grandchildren, Jason, Danielle and Emily; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and again on Wednesday from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 186 Main Street Powhatan Point, OH with Pastor Lorna Knight officiating. Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery with full Military Honors conducted by the Powhatan Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Powhatan VFW & American Legion Honor Guard 279 State Highway 7 North Powhatan Point, OH 43942.
