Joseph Rudolph Nemec, 86, of Bellaire, OH passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV.

Joe was born August 7, 1935 in Bellaire, OH a son of the late Bessie (Santavicca) and Rudolph Nemec.

Joe was the owner of Joe’s Used Cars and Parts in Shadyside, OH, a retired mechanic/truck driver for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Martins Ferry Plant, and most recently employed with Ohio West Virginia Excavating in Dillies Bottom, OH.  He was a member of the Bellaire Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the Teamsters Union, an avid Ford enthusiast, and a die-hard Bill Elliot NASCAR fan.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Katherine (Boyd-Emery) Nemec, sister Shirley Roman, step children Jodee Staskey and George Emery.

Surviving are his children; Shirley Jo Nemec, McDonald, OH, Kenneth Joseph Nemec, Ocoee, TN, Darla Jean Park, McDonald, TN, David James (Colleen) Nemec, Burton, OH Jana Lynn (Donald) Koonce, Lebanon, OH, Stepdaughter Penny Jo Emery (Terry) Kennedy, Panama City Beach, FL.  He has many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild,  three nieces and one nephew.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, OH 43947 on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Thursday February 3, 2022 visitation will be held at 12:00pm and the service at 1:00pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes – Shadyside with interment to follow at Powhatan Cemetery.
