Lois Ann Gibson, 78, of Powhatan Point, OH died Thursday, August 23, 2018 at her home. She was born October 5, 1939 in Bellaire, OH a daughter of the late Gus and Mary Lysien Novak.
Lois was the retired owner/operator of the Clair Tavern in Clarington, OH and a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gene “Hoot” Gibson on December 20, 2009.
Surviving are her children, Mariann (Mark) Gehrig of Clarington, Lois (Art) Hanlin of Powhatan Point and Robert “Bobby” Gibson, II of Shadyside, OH; a brother, Dr. Carl (Bonnie) Novak of Clarington; eight grandchildren, Erik Hanlin, Leigh Anna (Marco) DeClemente, Marka (Ryan) Salsberry, Greg Gehrig, Ryan Gehrig, Laken Gibson, Skyler Gibson, Shadow Gibson; three great-grandchildren, Brenden Hanlin, Braelin Hanlin and Jax Salsberry.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-8 pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 186 Main Street Powhatan Point, OH with a Vigil Service at 6 pm.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Gossett as celebrant. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
