Mary Hrelicka Hostasa, 96, through the grace of god has chosen her to join him as one of his angels on May 19, 2019.
She was born March 23, 1923, the daughter of Mary Margaret Hornak and James Hrelicka of Bellaire, Ohio.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, John W. Hostasa, a grandson, John Dennis McAtee (2015), four sisters, Bessie Straka, Rose Baldwin, Mildred Studnicka, Anne Sabo, and a daughter-in-law Mariellen Busack Hostasa.
Mary and John were both avid campers, fishermen, and gardeners. She was well known for her wonderful European pastries, and a faithful and very active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Shadyside, Ohio. A member of the Eastern Star Chapter and both members of the Promanaders Square Dancers.
Survivng are there three children John J. Hostasa of Punta Gorda Florida, Mike Hostasa of Thornville, Ohio, Mary Margaret (Randy) Burris of Wheeling, WV. They have eight wonderful grandchildren, Matthew, Erika, Brad, John Thomas, Chase, J.R., Joe and eleven great grandchildren and two on the way, many nieces and nephews and their families and many wonderful friends never to be forgotten.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, OH on Thursday May 23 2019 from 4pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 24, 2019 at 10:30 am with Pastor Daniel Barritt officiating.
Interment will be held at Powhatan Cemetery.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I have wonderful memories of your Mom in Church. She was always so kind and joyful. When both my parents passed she was always there to help serve food. Know she was a comfort to many.

We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Mary’s death…she will be missed by many…she is now in heaven with all her sisters…Aunt Mary was always smiling and had a great laugh…spent a lot of time with her and Uncle John through her sister Rose!
