Michael “Mike” Gregory Lucey, 55, of Milford, Delaware and Shadyside, Ohio passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, at his residence in Delaware. Mike was born February 19, 1967 the sixth child to the late Jerry and Hazel (Arbour) Lucey of Wheeling Island. Mike graduated from Wheeling Park High School in 1985 and continued his education at West Liberty State College where he played football and met his wife, Jane. He later graduated from WVU in 1991 with a Master’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry and Jim, nephew, Rick, brothers-in-law, Phil Morris and Mike Degarmo, sisters-in-law, Brenda and Bonnie, and a very special niece, Michelle Morris. Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jane Davis Lucey, children, Joseph, Matthew, and Maren all of Shadyside, Ohio, brother, Rick, sisters, Peggy Morris and Susan Degarmo, in-laws, Suzie Lucey, Midge Walton, Deb and Rudy Jovicic, Bud and Lorie Davis, uncle, Timothy Lucey, as well as numerous multigenerational nieces and nephews who were all important to him, and a special group of friends who were like family to Mike. Per Mike’s wishes, there will be no services or visitation. Instead, family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Mike’s life on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Wheeling Park’s Sonneborn Shelter at 2:00pm.
