Phyllis Ann Barsi, 82 of Bellaire, Ohio died Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Belmont Community Hospital in Bellaire, Ohio.
She was born November 20, 1933 in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of the late Frank and Opal Gray Anuskewic.
Phyllis was a homemaker, a member of the St. John Catholic Church, Sons of Italy Lodge 754 and the Bellaire Eagles FOE 371. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. “Moe” Barsi, one daughter, Teresa J. Moore and her sister, Jeanette Holtzman.
Surviving are her daughters, Antoinette (Jay) Meek of Shadyside, Ohio and Mary (Terry) Shepherd of Bellaire, Ohio. Also six grandchildren, Courtney (Brian) Back, Spencer (Jodi) Moore, Jesse Meek, Derek Meek, John (Tiffany) Shepherd and Elliot (Jessica) Shepherd and eight great grandchildren, Wyatt Back, Vincent Back, Lillian Back, Brylie Shepherd, Morgan Shepherd, Mikayla Taylor, Nathan Moore and Spencer Moore, Jr.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral liturgy wiith Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am at the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio with Fr. Daniel Heusel, as Celebrant. Entombment in the Guardian Angel Mausoleum in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel in Wheeling, West Virginia.
