Richard E. Delaney, 98, formerly of St. Clairsville died Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Barnesville Hospital.
He was born September 10, 1923 in Carrollton, OH a son of the late Cornel Ellsworth and Erma Ruby (Miller) Delaney.
Richard was a United States Army Veteran, having served in World War II, a Baptist by faith and a retired operating engineer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Elden Delaney and Robert Delaney and one sister, Thelma Jean Delaney
Surviving are his wife, Eileen Grace Delaney, children; Sandra Davis of Raleigh, North Carolina and Michael Delaney of Michigan, granddaughter, Dr. Kaylyn Guthrie, of Phildelphia, Pennsylvania and one brother; William Randal Delaney of California.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Belmont Memorial Park Cemetery. Full military honors to be conducted by the Moundsville Honor Guard.
