Robert E. Connor, 87 of Bellaire, Ohio formerly of Shadyside, Ohio died Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Country Club Retirement Campus.
He was born September 7, 1928 in Wheeling, West Virginia the son of the late Foy B. and Beulah Belle Gregg Connor.
Bob was a retired electronic technician for the former Reichart’s Furniture Stores and an employee of the Bridgeport Library. He was a US Army Air Corp veteran of World War II serving with the Eighth Army Air Corp in the European Theater and a member of the DAV Post 117 Lifetime and the American Legion Post 521.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie J. Whitlatch Connor on December 26, 2012.
Surviving are his children, Robert “Doug” (Kim) Connors of Bellaire, Ohio, Teresa Bailey of Cambridge, Ohio and Pamela Ortiz of New York. Also six grandchildren, Brandi (Brandon Howell), Megan, Carma, Misty, Amber and Josh and several great grandchildren including Branson.
Memorial gathering to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on Monday at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio from 5 pm until time of services at 7 pm with Pastor Bobby Ellsworth officiating.
Belmont County Council of the American Legion will conduct services Monday at 6:45 pm.
