Roger Louis Brown, 77, of Shadyside, OH, passed away at his home on Thursday March 3, 2022 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean Poludniak. He leaves behind his wife, Vickie (Dye) Brown; their children, David (Tori) Brown, Heather (Greg) Hutchings, Jeremiah (Lawri) Brown, Ashley (Dustin) Smith, Whitney (Angie) Kies-Brown and Alisha (Courtney) Shreffler as well as his brother Jerry Brown and many nieces and nephews.
Roger was born on May 16, 1944 to the late Lloyd and Francis (Martin) Brown in Bellaire, OH. After his graduation from Shadyside High School in 1962, he served in Vietnam under the United States Marine Corp. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 521, Shadyside, OH. He married the love of his life Vickie on September 24, 1968. Roger was retired from Ormet.
Roger was a loving grandfather to many – Ryan (Heather) Hutchings, Gregory (Maya) Rader, Taylor (Cody) Hutchings, Kayla (Josh) Franz, Kourtney (Nate) Rader, Valerie (Domanick) Vittori-Michael, Alexandrea (Corey) Rader, Brooke Brown, Ethan Brown, Lindsay Whittaker, Oliva Brown, Kody Neal, Jourdan and Brayden Walker, Karlee and Kailyn Smith. He was also a great grandfather to Ashtin and Samantha Franz, Graycen Newton, Freya Dejesus, Aaiden Hutchings, Elara Weitzel and Ellie Moore.
Family and friends will be received on Monday March 7, 2022 from 4 PM to 8 PM and on Tuesday from 11 AM until time of service at noon at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, OH.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Always a smile and a wave. I – and many others – know from experience the heartache and void you are experiencing with Roger’s passing. Saying I’m sorry just doesn’t seem to say enough. Grief is the price of LOVE. All of you are in my prayers.

I remember Roger when I was an eight year old little girl and would come to your mom’s to see your sister. He was always nice to me as was your whole family. Please know how sorry I was to hear of Rogers passing. You and your family are in my prayers Vickie.
