I am sorry that I did not get to see Syd in too many of the passing years, but she has lived in my heart for all of them. I first met her when I was about ten. Years later, my children were preschool students of hers in Miss Syd's early days. Then I worked there for her a few years before I finished my teaching degree and went on to public schools. All through those years I found Syd to have strong, sincere convictions in the raising and education of children. But mostly, I admired her because she was such a nurturing person to her students AND the adults in her circle. She was a positive influence in my life and I'm sure many others as well.
