Timothy Wayne Witchey, 63 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Acuity Specialty Hospital in Bellaire, Ohio.
He was born January 28, 1953 in Wheeling, West Virginia a son of the late Tommy W. Witchey and Jean A. Ambrose Mahan.
Tim was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation Steubenville South Plant at Mingo ; a member of the Thoburn United Methodist Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio, Cadiz Country Club, charter member of the Moose Lodge #2504 and a member of the Polish Club.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed sprint car races and riding his Harley Fatboy. Tim was an outstanding basketball player for St. Clairsville High School and later attended California State College and played basketball for OUE.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dr. John Mahan.
Surviving are his wife, Janie Foster Witchey, whom he married on June 28, 1975; two sons, Travis (Erin) Witchey and Trevor (Jennifer) Witchey both of St. Clairsville, Ohio; brothers and sisters, Todd W. (Lori) Witchey of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Cel (Paul) Hanson of Colerain, Ohio, Barb (Bob Moore) Snyder of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Lee Mahan of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Nancy (Paul) Gjording of Seattle, Washington and Sarah Mahan-Hays of St. Clairsville, Ohio.
Also four grandchildren, Charles Witchey, Ian Witchey, Ireland Witchey and Chris Witchey and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville, Ohio on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm where services will be held on Thursday at 11:30 am with Rev. Adam Davis officiating. Interment in the Belmont Cemetery in Belmont, Ohio.
