Benham, Virginia L. “Ginny” 82 of Shadyside, OH., formerly of Moundsville, WV., died Monday December 14, 2015 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.

Ginny was born February 27, 1933 in Marietta. Ohio, a daughter of the late Ernest G. and Florence Babcock Flowers.

She was retired from the Benwood-McMechen Library and was a Protestant by faith.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Norbert David Benham Jr. in 1999, two brothers, Bruce and Jim Flowers, three sisters, Wanda Beeney, Marilyn Mullenix and Jodi Kidder.

Surviving are her children, Lisa (Mario) D’Amico of Shadyside, OH, David (Michelle) Benham of Massillon, OH and Lori Benham and partner Lisa Stephenson of Mt. Joy, PA., two sisters, Jacqueline Hockenberry of Marietta, OH and Patricia (Larry) Ice of Lebanon, OH, four grandchildren, Mario and Samantha D’Amico, Kristin Mason and Andy Benham, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday 2-4pm & 6-8 pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday with Reverend Randy Weaver officiating.

Burial follows in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire, OH.

Ginny loved the library and a fitting memorial would be to place a book in the Benwood-McMechen Library in her memory.

Thinking of you all at this very sad time and wishing I could be there. Your Mom always affectionately called me turd 🙂 We shared a love of reading and I am going to miss discussing books with her. My memories of her are tinged with love. I love you all.
