Waldo E. Masciarelli, 103, of Shadyside, OH passed away peacefully at Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire, OH on February 10, 2018.  He was born June 15, 1914 in Moundsville, WV a son of the late Antonio and Earnesta Roberti Masciarelli.

Waldo was a retired employee of the former Sylvania Electric of Wheeling and Imperial Clevite of Lansing.  He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II having served in Germany.  He was a member of the Bellaire Eagles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Cecelia Merrick Masciarelli who was his soulmate and dance partner for 30 years; brothers, Nick, Pete and Marion Masciarelli; sisters, Mary DiSantis, Helen Brice and Violet Orfi; a special nephew, Joseph “Butch” Masciarelli.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews but especially close to those who lived near him including Nick and Marion Masciarelli, John Brice, Frank and Joe Masciarelli and niece Anita Smigill.

Friends will be received on Friday from 9 am until time of funeral service at 2 pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, OH 43906 with Fr. Dan Heusel as celebrant.  Burial in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.  Full military honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
