Our thoughts are with everyone
May she rest in peace. Remember the joyful times you both spent together.
Mrs. Beveridge, what can I say about her? I knew her from the bank and waited on her multiple times. She was a great lady, and I always looked forward to assisting her needs. She made me laugh and I admired her so much. She made so many blankets and would bring them in to show us. I was even fortunate enough to be a receptient of more than one of them. She was a thoughtful and loving lady. She will be missed by many!!
Russ, I understand this is a rough year, losing both your parents so close together. My thoughts & prayers are with you and the family. God bless you all!
Rich and extended family...Just heard of Ruth's passing and sending my thoughts of comfort in this time of sorrow. Remember all those 'Tiger' basketball games you two would sit behind us cheering on the 'Tigers'. Ruth and Rich were known by everyone in Shadyside and she will be missed very much. However, for believers, we know she is smiling and leaving behind wonderful memories that will bring happiness in the days ahead. Sue Junkins
My sincere condolences to the entire Rosser family on Ruth’s passing. Most especially to Mr Rosser and son Steve, who I got to know by competing against him in Bronco League baseball at age 12. Steve befriended me even though I played for an opposing team (Martins Ferry) and as we got to junior high, his mother and father would cheer for me when I made a good play and I was competing against the Tigers and Steve. That is the type of parents Steve and all siblings had for parents! Just outstanding human beings in love with their kids and the Tigers. Every time I would run into Mr Rosser, he always came up to me and asked about my parents and wanted to know if I was doing well! Ruth will be missed and never replaced, because Legeds aren’t replaced. The entire Rosser family is in my prayers tonight.
To the family of Shirley Johnson-Mallory: You are in our prayers at this difficult time. "Tenderly may time heal your sorrow Gently may friends ease your pain Softly may peace replace heartaches and may the warmest memories remain" -Unknown Don & Rebecca Turner Weirton, WV

Shirley touched so many lives and was a wonderful person. I will always remember her smile, it would light up a room and how warm and caring she was. She would come into my Dad's shoe store(Bermans) and talk with him. She would bring in Denise when she was a baby and i would play withs her, while her and Dad visited. Shirley would always keep him on his toes. I remember seeing her and Denise at the 4th of July fireworks in Martins Ferry when Tre Kell was a baby, I got to play with him then and visit with them. Shirley will be greatly missed, but has earned her wings and will be watching over her family.

David was such a kind soul he lived next door by my grandmother Emma for a few years.David helped all the older neighbor ladies when they needed something done.
I knew David through our dear departed friend, Alex. Now, the two roommates have been reunited through your will. Some fond memories (drinking his cup of hot tea when he first arises, to the meticulous care of his car(s), to his love of Ohio State and his family, of our trip to Washington, D.C., a listening rock to my broken relationships, our movie dates, fighting for the restaurant bils (especially at Mehleman's). So many more loving memories to cherish forever.

Ian we are so sorry for the loss of your mother. Sending condolences and prayers for you and your family.
Joanne, I am so sorry to you and your family, just heard about Bill. You are in my prayers.
When I was 5 years old, Doug married our mother Sherry and willingly faced the challenge of becoming a stepfather to her 3 children. He was a loving, caring, protective stepdad to 3 kids who needed him more than they knew. Immediately after my mother and Doug were married, Mom began redecorating the house on Brooks' Run and Doug jumped right into her shenanigans. My mother was in total bliss. They began with our bedrooms and made their way downstairs. They planted flowers galore in the front of the house and down both sides of the driveway. I remember Doug watering the flowers after dark & neatly putting away the hose. It seemed like he cut grass every day and to this day, whenever I'm woken by the sound of a lawn mower, memories take me back home to Brooks' Run. Everywhere Doug went, he took me along. Sometimes he'd set me on his lap and let me drive his big Dodge truck - and gosh those were famous moments. He must've taken me to Murphy's 50 times to buy a hamster or a gold fish. As soon as one died, he'd get me another one. I clearly remember when he taught me how to tell time before anyone in my class. He helped me with my homework and taught me how to add and subtract. Every day we sat down for dinner as a family then each night he carried me upstairs to bed. I loved that. On snow days, he released his inner-child and take us sled riding for hours. He'd tie a big rubber tube to the back of his truck and pull us kids all over the Giffin farm. Those days will never be forgotten. Oh such historic crazy fun! I never met anyone more organized than Doug. His tidiness left a lasting impression on my life, no doubt. Everything he touched was clean and neatly in order. I clearly remember sitting on the bed, looking at his hats & shoes and how the structure and organization appealed to me. I asked Doug why his things were so organized and he explained his service in the Navy and how he was responsible for keeping his living area clean & orderly. It made perfect sense and I tried to become the same way too. If I had to choose a stepdad for my childhood, I'd pick Doug every time. He made me feel safe and secure when I was a child and there's nothing he wouldn't have done for us kids. My mother would say the same as she depended on him during the most vulnerable times of her life. I'm grateful she brought Doug into our family. He was a gift and I'll carry him in my heart forever. Rest in peace sweet man. You were an outstanding stepdad.
So sorry for her families loss Prayers for all of you

We would have loved to have seen Marilyn one more time. Since we reside in Florida we had not been able to visit much with her. 5 years ago we started coming up for a few years to Mehlmans cafeteria where we would have all the relatives get together from that area. Marilyn would always come with Teresa. My husband and I had to discontinue that because of sickness in the family. Wish we could have seen her again. We are cousins. God bless her. She will be in our prayers. Shirley (Miller) and Walt Briden

In 2007 I was moving into my house in Wheeling and aunt Bertha said she had some things in the basement she would give me for the house. When Jamie and I walked into the basement with her she started pulling things off the shelves, and setting them to her left. I would decide if it was something I could use and place it next to me; most everything was needed since I didn’t have many things for the house. One item, I think it was a coffee pot, I already had so Jamie took the box back to the shelf approaching her from the right. He ten slipped back to me while she was setting something down on her left (slowly I might add…lol) As we stood there and watched her turn back to the shelf she was surprised as she said ‘well look at that …. “I didn’t know I had two of those!’” Jamie and I looked at each other and laughed before we told her she didn’t -he had just set it back on the shelf a second ago. This is a very specific moment that we all laughed about, as she realized she never saw him do this. She like my own mom, had a wonderful sense of humor and I am very grateful God gave her to this family, and to know her heart was right with our Heavenly Father. My aunt Bertha was very special during my time spent in the Ohio Valley.

Bruce, my brother, please accept our deepest condolences. We are extremely grateful to have met your father and had an opportunity to get to know him; he exuded intelligence, warmth, love and light! Not to mention his swag and his beautiful smile; he would light up a room when he entered it! In Igbo culture, when a great KING passes on, they say, "Oke osisi adaala n'obodo," which means "a great tree has fallen in the land." It is a rare occurrence for great trees to fall. However, the fall is also not the end of the tree because its deep roots ensures it keeps sending out new sprouts. As Africans, in our culture, we take solace in knowing that death is not the end. We believe your father, Mr. Charles lives on. We are stronger now that such a great KING has transited to become one of our ancestors, watching over us. Again our sincere condolences to your entire family and all who loved Mr. Charles.
Just heard. So very sorry. Doll was such a beautiful person.

I remember Homer from years ago when he was the star player on the little league team in north Bellaire that my dad, Matt Taflan helped coach. I remember from high school (and his smile). Then we lost touch. A year or so ago, while at work one day, I looked up and saw that smile and called out,”Home?” , and he called back, “Nick!”, and a friendship was rekindled. We texted a lot and often met for coffee. I miss him, and I will never forget him, but I know for sure he is with our Lord. A fine man and a good friend!! Nick Taflan RPh

Connie was my work mom, while I was attending The Ohio State University- she was always so kind and even checked in on my days off. Even after finishing she, we met for lunch several times. Hearing of her passing while not in Ohio currently- wish I could have been there for the memorial. Sorry Babe to hear this, may she rest easy.

Jim was such a great person. I would always run into him when I came into Shadyside. Always had a smile and kind words for everyone. I will miss him.
We are so sorry to hear about Jim. We saw him almost every time we came home, usually at mass. Jim was a person who spread the LIGHT OF CHRIST everywhere he went. ALMIGHTY GOD used him so many times to touch others with joy and caring and love for HIM. Now Jim walks with the Angels and the Saints glorifying OUR LORD and sitting at the banquet tables celebrating. We know your hearts are breaking. May the HOLY SPIRIT be with you and provide all your needs.

Carol and I are very sad to hear of Jim's passing. He was a great guy. I am glad we had the chance to get back in touch in recent years at the car shows.
The first time I met Jimmy (1986) I asked myself, "What's this deal with this dude? I haven't known him for 5 minutes and you'd think we were best friends from High School". I quickly learned that WAS Jimmy. Anyone who wasn't his best friend was just a person he hadn't met yet. The world needs more Jimmy's, and we have lost the best one. I love ya Cuz.. my heart hurts, but some day we will see each other again.
To Sherry, Jamie, Josh, Jay Michael, Averi Rose,Carma & the whole Kovalo Family, Nile & I are heartsick over Jim’s passing. What a wonderful guy he was. So friendly, loving & had the best Hugs. I was one of Jim's team mates. He was the best player on the team and led by example. While some players claimed to give their all, Jim always did. Many times in the 1973 football season, Jim would be forced to come out of the game due to leg cramps in the fourth quarter, but he was always back in the game as soon as possible. He was a great person and will be missed.
Met Jim & Sherry through church. What nice people. Loved to hear him talk about his granddaughter. He sure did love his family. My deepest sympathy to Sherry and children. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim was the altar boy at our wedding. I always tell him he did a great job since we’ve been married 53 years. He has always teased me that because he seemed more nervous than I, I actually winked at him during the service. It got him to smile and calm down. I will miss that smile, those wonderful hugs, and a long friendship. ❤️
Bob, your mother will alway be one of my happy “growing up on Grand Ave” memories. My Sincere Sympathy to you and Family

To Beckie and family- so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers to all .
Thinking of all of you. Your Mom was a very special lady!
I hold a fond memory of Aunt Erm, I was a very young girl, my Aunt Erm in her apron, baking her famous fruit cocktail cookies for her family visitors. In my adult life I thoroughly enjoyed the long, over due reconnection with Aunt Erm after the passing of my mother and her sister, Wilma. During this time I was thankful to not only get to know my Aunt again but to acknowledge the family similarities. Erm was witty, and unapologetically honest and funny about the everyday things in life. I enjoyed hearing family stories and especially loved it when I reminded Aunt Erm of a song their mother had sung to them as children, and my mother sang to me growing up. It brought me to tears and made my heart full. Her pictures have brought joy to me as I not only got to see my Aunt, but I also saw such a strong resemblance of my mother but also the beauty that was shared with grace and determination by these sisters.. Aunt Erm, You will be missed with love,
So very sorry for the loss of your dear mother. Love hugs and prayers of comfort for all.

As I was growing up I would always visit and talk to Al and his wife. He was a great storyteller and a very thoughtful, wise man. Both were wonderful people and great neighbors. I hope that the family can take comfort knowing that they are now together again.
I am so sad to hear of Mr. Schramm’s passing. He was my Driver’s Training instructor & our car group had the best summer. We girls took him to Elby’s on our last day & he gave us memories we still laugh about. I enjoyed running into him over the years. Our conversation always included lots of smiles & hugs. He was a wonderful man! My sympathies to the family.

I’m so sorry to hear of Helen Lee’s passing, what a truly wonderful person… she will be deeply missed. Deepest sympathy to her family.
So sorry for your loss. He was great teacher and Lord knows I gave him such a hard time! May he rest in the arms of our Lord. Prayers of comfort for the families.
I was a student in Mr. Schramm’s Bookkeeping/Accounting and Driver’s Ed classes. The accounting class gave me a head start in my Ohio Univ accounting classes and a 38 year career at Price Waterhouse. The lasting Driver’s Ed quote from Mr. Schramm, “Speed good. Position good.” Thank you, Mr. Schramm.
Mr. Schramm was my driver's ed teacher. He also taught about car parts. For some reason, he often mentioned the cam shaft. I still don't know what that is...but I did pass the driving class and the driving test to get my license. He was sooo patient with his students. Peace.
Our deepest sympathy in the passing of Aunt Helen Lee. So many good memories involve her and Uncle Rudy and you Beck. Em and family she loved talking about you and how she loved you. Love and hugs to all.

To The Campbell family: We were very saddened to hear of Jo-Jo's passing. They certainly broke the mold when they made him. As far back as I can remember, I saw him as a man to look up to. This world needs more people like him. I also remember the stories he told at Bub Fitch's funeral, about growing up in the West 23rd Street neighborhood. Those memories still put a smile on my face. I will never forget you telling me about him giving you your first pair of lineman boots when you were small...you'll have those memories forever!
I want to express my sincere condolences to your family. I guess my greatest memory of Joe was just the way he said “Cecelia.” How he adored you. Joe was such a great person to be around. Always thinking of others, always a smile (unless he was very mad at someone), always a Big Red and so much passion for his family and his town. Many prayers of love and peace to your family. I’ll always remember him and so many great memories.
My mother, Mrs. Green, and I, Sandy, want to express our sorrow in your loss. She has lived a long life. We remember her and family when they had lived in our neighborhood. Mother and Mrs. Stackhouse had talked quite often. We enjoyed having your family as neighbors. Again, expressing our sympathy in the loss of your mother, grandmother, great grandmother, etc. May God bless all of you.
To our wonderful friend and my parents' loving neighbor. Always there to help my Mom and Dad. You will truly be missed. Our deepest sympathy to Mary, Carla, and Richard.
To the Campbell family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. This world lost one of the greatest men I’ve known in my life. One of the most generous, good hearted, passionate about his town you could ever want as a friend. Not only is Bellaire a better place but anyone who had met him is a better person. I hope each one of us learned something from this great human being. Rest In Peace my friend. I will miss you.
The news that uncle Jo Jo died took my breath away. I could hardly believe it. Though his sister, Betty suffers from dementia, I thought it would be apropos to send thoughts and wishes I think mom would have expressed. From the depths of my (Betty) heart, I love my brother without end. …. My words will never be enough to express my joy to see him once we are together again in heaven. We shared life from the unique lens of historic adventures… from surviving the depression and wars, to celebrating new families and marriages, we walked this world together. You were my best friend, my advocate, my protector, my cheer on a gloomy day. You made me smile in grief, and helped me grieve in pain. We are threaded together, you, Bob, with I…with a family bond of countless blessings. You were loved by many people… and loved with a sister’s hands folded in prayer. I (Jeff) can still think of dozens of stories where Jo Jo made my childhood more fun! Though I moved away as a young adult, I never forgot our shared experiences... you are greatly missed dear uncle Jo Jo… Jeff Norden

My heart hurts for you Mom, as it does mine, as we grieve the loss of your Mother and our precious grandmother. Grandma sort of sprinkled stardust over the lives of all us grandchildren when we were little. She impacted all our lives in many ways, and we all are stronger because of her. She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts. I may not be able to see her face, but I will always see her sweet smile. I may never hear her voice again, but she will forever echo in our souls. The wisdom and unconditional love she brought to our world is something I can never forget or replace. After all, she, like you, was the one who always held my hand when I was little and promised everything was going to be fine. I will miss her laughter and how she always made me feel like she had been waiting to see just me all day when my you would bring me and Dawn to see her. She will always be a big warm hug and sweet memories and the sun will shine again because grandma will live on in your hearts and memories. ❤️

John, As another member of the Hamilton Street gang, has passed into the arms of Our Lord. Take solace in the fact that those of us who knew him when, will never forget him. He was smart, handsome, a great athlete and ,of course, as all of us who grew up in Bellaire in the 50's. was a unique character...not a personality easily forgotten. We played every pick-up sport imaginable, chased women, told tall tales, and danced our hearts out, way back then. He is my friend and always will be, regardless of the years that separated our seeing one another. If you are a Believer, believe that he is regaling the saints in heaven with stories of his exploits, and coaching them up. If only one of us remembers him and speaks his name...he lives on! Mike Velt

John has been a part of my life since I can remember. He was my dad’s best friend. They met worked at Rodefer Gleason Glass many moons ago Growing up, I remember him stopping by the house. As an adult he was there for dad, my brother and I when my mom passed away in 2015 and then has been there for my brother and I since my dad passed in August of 2019. He called me weekly since dad passed to check on me. He even called me on his break at the printing shop His voice always calmed me, he was never in a bad mood and he truly cared about people. I will never know anyone like Krebsie and I will miss him all the days of my life. So long, sweet cheeks.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I remember Justin as the little boy who skipped half of kindergarten because he loved staying home with his mom, the kid who almost got us lost in the woods because he “knew ALL the trails” and the boy who crashed my slumber parties. I remember he had very strong opinions on whether N’Sync and Backstreet Boys were better, and he was the first call I made when I got my first CD player (complete with BSB CD…which he sang along with, even though I’m sure he would deny that.) He always tried to be such a gentleman, even when we were young; if another kid said something inappropriate, he would blush, grin and (sarcastically) say “I can’t talk about such things with ladies present.” From reading the stories that everyone has shared, and looking at his adorable little girl, the nice kid that I knew grew up to be a good man.
Being from out of town my only source of information has been the internet in trying to find out what happened to John since first learning about it on Face Book this past Sunday. Finally the day of his viewing I see it posted. I first met Krebsie in 1976 when I worked at WOMP FM. Legend has it he showed first showed up at the station in KISS make up around Halloween. I met him one night while I was on the air. He rang the buzzer which was really loud. When I answered the door he said he heard me on the radio asking for people to give me a buzz and we’ve been friends ever since. He eventually landed a gig as being the disc jockeys roadie. “Disco down with the men from WOMP FM”. He helped us haul our equipment around and set up for record hops. I left the WOMP in 1978 for Virginia, then Connecticut and finally Pittsburgh. All the while we kept in touch mostly on the phone but occasionally getting together. One summer in ’84 we got together at Barcamp as part of a reunion of sorts. It was a place my wife and I loved to go practically every weekend. In ’87 he helped move my wife’s grandmother out of her house on the Island. In ’94 he showed up at a surprise 40th birthday party my wife threw for me. But through out the years we mostly kept in touch by phone or a direct message on Face book. The last time I talked to John was in June. He wanted to talk to me about a radio station Rocky 96.5.and how they were playing songs you just don’t hear anymore. In fact every time we talked it was mostly about music. Last time he DM’d me was 8 days ago, September 22nd. He sent me a picture of the Worlds Fastest Z50 motorcycle. Can’t believe he’s gone.
John's been a good friend since high school. He always had the scoop on the newest band and albums. A great drummer friend also I'll miss dearly. See you later buddy and rest in peace.

Our sincere condolences to Carole and Suzanne. John always stopped by Mom & Dads house to check up on them over the years. Many times, in high school riding our motorcycles, listening to music and of course playing drums, in which John was really gifted. I recall John calling me when he made Grand Master in the Masonic Lodge, an amazing accomplishment. I’ll remember John for all our great conversations (our last June 2021), speaking of Mom, the bands he played in over the years, and of course asking about Sluggo. You truly will be missed. God, you just got another Great Drummer and a man of heart and soul. Sincerely, Stanley, Paula & Deanna Shultz Plant City, Fl.
