I fondly remember Kurt working at the school. He was such a pleasant fellow, worked very hard and had a lovely family. I send sincere sympathies to Terry and the rest of Kurt’s family. God Bless

I’ve been crying about this since i heard the terrible news. I started working as a substitute teacher at Powhatan 3 years ago, and became a full time teacher last year. Kurt was always so kind to me. Being in the school now is so strange, I’m so used to seeing him there that I’m always expecting him to be around the next corner. I feel so awful for both he and his family. I feel awful that our school district didn’t shut down when every other one did, and that this happened to such a kind person. I hope his family finds comfort in these messages, knowing what their loved one meant to so many people. Rest easy Kurt, I hope you find peace on the other side. We all miss you,

I have such great memories of my Cousin Kurt. We used to go down Pap Bakers house and he gave us a pipe, we lit it up and smoked that old nasty Cutty pipe tobacco. Last thing I remember was Kurt driving us up the road on his Honda 50 swerving the entire way. By the time we got there we were green and Kurt ran in the house throwing up. Valerie thought sure we ate wild green apples. Lol Well Kurt I will always remember your birthday is the day after mine and we will all be back together someday . Rest in Peace and tell my Mom and Dad and your Mom and Dad we all Love and Miss them. Until we meet again. Prayers for all my Cousins that are still fighting this horrible virus. ❤️❤️

I have worked with Kurt for 15 years! He would do anything for anyone! I will miss joking around with him and our conversations between classes! I would always joke with Kurt that I was his favorite and he would tell me only on payday Fridays! When I would call Kurt for something he would say want do you want Violet it’s not payday! Lol Powhatan Elementary is sure going to miss him!
