Ellen was such a good and kind person. I have many memories sitting in her classroom at the end of a difficult day. We would start talking out our frustrations and feelings, then end up laughing. She always asked about my children and truly cared about how they were doing. She will be missed by so many My thoughts and prayers go out to you Betsy and Calvin. She loved you dearly and talked about you often. I never actually met you but I feel like I know you both. Take care

My deepest sympathies and prayers to the Giffin family. I'm saddened to hear of Ellen's passing. She was so nice, fun, and caring. I met Ellen a little over 40 years ago when we worked together at Baskin Robbins in the Ohio Valley Mall. It was great getting to know her, and although professional, she always had me laughing about something. I can still hear Ellen's hardy laugh : ) Then as we both took different paths, I always enjoyed running into Ellen over the years and catching up and, of course, laughing about something. She not only put a smile on my face but also in my heart! Thank you, Ellen, and rest in peace.

Ellen was a beautiful friend inside and out. All of us who have known her find a vacant spot that can never be filled. She was devoted to teaching and because she excelled in her life work she will be remembered by her students during their lifetimes.

Ellen, I loved catching up at our class reunions. I will never forget the time you and Lisa came to Jan’s house for a visit. We were laughing so hard out on her deck that we got in trouble from the neighbors for being too loud! I loved your laugh. You had a way of making everyone smile!
