I remember having John as a student when I taught at St. John Central High School in the 1960's and 1970's. He had a special quality about him and I can see from his obit that he used it to serve and help others. I have thought about him from time to time and am praying for him and his family. My sympathy to all of you family members and friends. (I remember teaching Peter too and hope he is doing well.) Fr. Gaughan

When you heard the beep outside you always knew Uncle John wanted some dinner on a plate to go or needed a little gas from the can as his journeys for the day left the tank a little low. I will miss that beep very much.

I remember when John came out to Santa Clara for a visit with Mildred. We live right near the El Camino Real which has lots of stores and restaurants. John had a blast visiting a particular Chinese restaurant called China Way. He would walk there and order fried rice every time he went. He has done something we haven't done! He's walked there and we still drive there! I miss you John! You would call out of the blue asking how we all were and you meant it! Gonna miss that!
