There are very few people you meet in life that can have a profound impact on the way you think, the way you act, and the way you conduct yourself on a daily basis. Donnie you were that guy for me. Since the first time we ever spoke, I always told myself that I needed to be more like you. I spent time with you in the gym, SWAT training, and other places and I've never once heard you say a negative word about anyone. You made me a better person, you had that rare ability to bring everyone up to your level and make everyone around you better. It's a mark of a true leader and a true gentleman. I'm proud to call you my friend, always have been, always will be. We never ended a conversation without you saying "I love ya brother". I pray I earned your respect as well because all I've ever wanted as former teammates, was for you to trust me no matter what awaited us on the other side of that door. I'm gonna miss you old friend. I love you brother, and I'll see you on the other side. Barry

Donnie, Judy, Brynleigh, Shayna and Stoney, I am so saddened over the terrible tragedy that took the life of your precious, son, dad and your boyfriend. I am forever grateful that I knew Donnie since he was born, what an awesome little guy he was when he attended Sunday School, always so polite and friendly, he grew into a great teenager, so popular in school, I believe he was King twice in school. Then he went on to do a job that he loved, working at the prison and I would say he was very kind to the prisoners. All of the training he had to protect people, living life to the fullest. Member of the Warthogs, a very worthwhile organization. Becoming a daddy I would say was the greatest gift that God gave him, he loved his little girl. He saved Stoney to keep him alive nurturing him when the little guy did not have a mommy to care for him, I would say that is a gentle Giant, Stoney was an orphan and Donnie took him to live with him, I loved to see his pictures on facebook. I sent Donnie a picture of an old country guy dancing with his raccoon, it was so darn cute, I asked Donnie if he thought he and Stoney could dance like that and he said, probably with a little practice. His beautiful love of his life came into his world ten years ago, what a lovely couple, I know they had an unconditional love. They loved each other dearly. He was his mom and dad's pride and joy and he was so blessed to say hey, that is my mom and dad, he even had Mom tattooed on his chest, what does that tell you. You all have wonderful memories, please cling to them and never forget how much he loved all of you and how much you loved Donnie. God Bless you and call upon our Lord and Saviour to help you with your loss. RIP our sweet Donnie D. Buff. Our little town loves you to the moon and back.

I remember one of my first memories of Donnie. I was in grade school at Powhatan Elementary and Judy had brought him to school. Donnie was a stocky little guy with a head full of curly hair. He was a rambunctious little guy then, which carried him thru his life. Donnie was a gentle, loving soul, who knew no strangers and everyone loved him. Remember all the good times you shared with him, be proud of him. Donnie D will be missed by all. May God Bless your family and hold you tight in his loving arms
